Welinton celebrates goal, but laments draw.
The defender believes Flamengo ended up losing two points in Wednesday's match against Ceará.
By From the official website team - inWhen Welinton, with a low, toe-poke shot in the classic defender-style style he adopted after receiving praise from Vanderlei Luxemburgo, opened the scoring just one minute into the game, Flamengo fans were optimistic on Wednesday. The team seemed poised to achieve what only one other team in the Brazilian Championship has managed: beating Ceará at the Castelão stadium.
The home team tied the game in the first half, but in the second half, Angelim scored the second goal. Confidence grew even higher. But, again, near the end, Vozão tied the game. This discouraged not only the fans but also the red-and-black players, including Welinton himself.
"The game was in our hands. The result for us was three points, but unfortunately we failed and lost two. We didn't deserve this result," he lamented.
For the defender, the memory of the goal will be great, of course, but he assures that he would be more satisfied with a victory.
"I'm very happy with the goal, but the most important thing would be for us to leave here with a victory," he added.
The Flamengo delegation returns to Rio de Janeiro on Thursday (November 04.11th), trains on Friday (November 05.11th) and Saturday (November 06.11th) at Ninho do Urubu and faces Atlético-PR on Sunday (November 07.11th) in Volta Redonda.
