"The pace is heavy, tough, as it always is in pre-season, but this gives us important support. This season has many competitions, so we need to work hard to endure it," said the player, who also spoke about the arrival of Ronaldinho, which will give the defenders more trouble.
"No problem at all (laughs). Flamengo needs to play offensively, and we in the back will do our best to avoid conceding goals and help the team improve up front. Since his youth days, I've seen Ronaldinho, the best in the world, excel, and it's a pleasure to have him on our team now. Playing alongside him will be great," he said.
Welinton is expected to form the starting center-back pairing with David in the first games of the year and anticipates good chemistry with the player. According to him, the duo has everything it takes to succeed.
