Willians believes that Fla will get it right

Midfielder sees Brazilian at the beginning and bets that Rubro-Negro, with time to work, will have a good campaign

Itu (SP) - It's been a long time since the Brazilian Championship was suspended for the World Cup in South Africa. But despite the feeling that the competition is already in an advanced stage, only seven rounds of the Brasileirão have passed. That's what midfielder Willians is thinking. He believes there's still plenty of time for Flamengo to find its feet and fight for the top spots.

"I'm always confident. The whole group is motivated, and we're sure we can have a good Brazilian Championship. A few months have passed, but the championship is still in its early stages. We've only played seven rounds. So we have to be confident that we can start like we did last year," said the player, who believes the preparation days are crucial for the group.

"We're having time to train hard, and that's important. We have to think about the 14th. It's still a few days away, it seems a long way off, but the game is coming soon, and we need to be ready for the match against Botafogo," he noted.

One of the most beloved players by fans, for his dedication on the field, Willians is grateful for the support of the fans since arriving at Gávea last year.

"I've always dedicated myself a lot on the field. I did what I had to do, and I'm happy with the fans' support. Thank God, they've been by my side, and I've always been very honest, both on and off the field. That's who I am; I do my job to the best of my ability and I try not to pay too much attention to criticism or praise so it doesn't affect me on the field," said the midfielder, who also praised the spirit of the red-and-black squad.

"The group is wonderful. This good humor, this joking around is good for everyone. There are no arguments or fights here. Everything is very calm. Everyone is united and I believe that this is a big difference," he concluded.

Signed in January 2009, Willians has already played 78 games for Flamengo: he scored three goals and provided five assists, in addition to having already won two titles: the State and the Brazilian Championship last season.
