Midfielder Willians sprained his ankle this Sunday against Duque de Caxias, and his starting lineup for the midweek match is virtually ruled out. According to doctor José Luiz Runco, the number 8 should be rested to prevent the injury from worsening. Coach Andrade revealed that he spoke with the head of the club's medical department and received this communication from Dr. Runco.

"Runco told me not to count on Willians for Wednesday's game. He sprained his ankle and there's no point sacrificing him. It could make things worse. We need to be careful. It's clear we'll need a large, qualified group," Andrade revealed.

With that, Fernando, who replaced Willians this Sunday and also scored the winning goal for the red-and-blacks in their 3-2 victory over Duque de Caxias, is expected to get another chance. Aware of the responsibility he will have in replacing the biggest ball thief of the 2009 Brazilian Championship, the player is confident of having a great performance against Volta Redonda.
