The blow to his left arm suffered in last Saturday's match against Vitória is still bothering midfielder Willians. But he won't be a problem for the match against Universidad de Chile on Thursday (May 20.05) in Santiago. The number 8 arrived at Ninho do Urubu with a brace on his arm and performed activities separately from the group to avoid physical contact that could aggravate the injury.
A key player in Flamengo's formation due to his speed and marking ability, as well as his quality in attacking, Willians knows it's important to recover in time for the match against the Chileans, the most important of the year for Flamengo.
"Yes, I will play. It's a very important game for Flamengo and I don't think that will bother me," he said.
Club doctor Márcio Tannure explains that Willians did not train with the rest of the group precisely as a precaution, but revealed that the player is not a concern for the match.
"He only suffered a trauma in the game against Vitória, but it's not a concern. The separate training session was just to avoid any kind of blow that could make things worse," he revealed.
