Zé Ricardo comments on Fla-Flu and the Carioca semifinals

Coach gave a press conference after the classic in Espírito Santo

By - in
This Sunday's Fla-Flu (2) was not the best for Rubro-Negro with the goal of the tricolor and the expulsion of Pará, with about 15 minutes left in the match. But Willian Arão's accurate header in the last minute made everything equal on the scoreboard, defined the semifinals of the Campeonato Carioca and delighted the Capixaba Nation in the stadium, which left with the draw with a taste of victory for Klebão. After the end of the match, coach Zé Ricardo lamented the missed goals, but also valued the opponent and has already changed the focus to the knockout stage of the state and to the next challenge for the Libertadores, against Atlético-PR.

Positive side
It's important that we scored the goal at the end; it showed our team's incredible resilience. We have a very worthy opponent on the other side. We'll prepare the team well for the Rio Cup semifinals and the Libertadores. Sometimes we don't score the goals we'd like. But there's also the opponent on the other side.

Importance of athletes' delivery
(The group) remains confident; I know we didn't play poorly. When we don't play well and are a player down, I think it's important. We commend the athletes' competitive spirit.

Ball forward
Now it's time to think about the semifinals of the Rio Cup and the Carioca, but we also have to think about the Libertadores. I think it would be interesting if we played the semifinal on Saturday (with an extra day between us and the match against Atlético-PR).
