On Wednesday night (15), Flamengo went to Chile to face Universidad Católica at the San Carlos de Apoquindo stadium. Valid for the second round of the Conmebol Libertadores Bridgestone, the Rubro-Negro lost the match 1-0. After the game, coach Zé Ricardo gave a press conference and spoke about the result.
Flamengo's next challenge will be on Saturday (18), when Mais Querido faces Resende at the Raulino de Oliveira stadium, in Volta Redonda, at 18:30 pm.
Result analysis
At times we had more possession, at other times Católica was better, but we had our opportunities and lacked finishing. We knew the pressure would be high and we conceded a goal from a set piece that we had analyzed and practiced thoroughly. There was a defensive movement and Santiago Silva was fortunate.

Márcio Araújo's entrance
Católica has a very talented player in midfield, Buonanotte. Márcio has speed to match, which is superior to that of Rômulo and Arão. We believed we could neutralize his movements, and we managed to do so in the first half. When we had a lighter team and were more focused on winning, we ended up conceding a goal.
Balance within the group
It's a very tough competition with a very balanced group. Our group, in particular, is very evenly matched, and we're going to try to reverse that in the next game against Atlético Paranaense, who are strong both at home and away. We can't think we'll have it easy at home, but we have to get as many points as possible in Rio. The trend for this group is that it will be decided in the last round.
