On Saturday afternoon (16), Flamengo drew 3-3 with Botafogo at the Luso-Brasileiro stadium, on Ilha do Governador. At the press conference, coach Zé Ricardo spoke about the game and took the opportunity to talk about his appointment.

We played a tough match, a classic rivalry. I think the draw was fair for both teams. It's always tough to play against Botafogo. They were better in the first half, and we improved at halftime. Now it's time to dust ourselves off and work towards Monday (25) when we face América-MG.

We worked with Canteros playing further forward and Arão more on the right. We wanted possession, but unfortunately, Botafogo scored two goals. I think we tried a strategy that didn't work. Sometimes things don't go our way, but we earned a point away from home. We have to evaluate the video and improve. We'll work to finish the first half of the season in the top four.

This permanent appointment doesn't change anything. We were already working hard, and we'll keep doing so. I'd like to thank Flamengo's management for their confidence in me and all my colleagues. We'll keep working because Flamengo aspires to great things in the competition. We'll rest and return on Tuesday.

He was my athlete in the youth team and now he's back. I know his potential; he's an intelligent player with refined technique; he played well in France.
