Zico and Patricia Amorim thank the club for its support campaign
The president and director of football know they can count on the red-blacks to make Flamengo better.

When took over as executive director of football from Flamengo, at the invitation of president Patricia Amorim, Zico, the greatest idol in the club's history, I was aware of how much responsibility I would have. Even more so for having won so many titles on the field. However, one thing, which has been with Galinho since his time with the red-and-black number 10, has never left his mind: the importance of support from the stands.
This week, upon learning of the creation of a pro-Flamengo movement by fans, entitled "With Zico for Flamengo", which uses his image, the then-leader once again thanked the red-and-blacks for their support. Zico also emphasized the importance of this movement so that projects desired by the fans, such as the completion of the training center, can be completed, bringing ever more victories to Gávea.
"Flamengo fans have always been like this. Their support and love are unrestricted and unconditional. The red-and-blacks don't give up and don't abandon the team, even in difficult times. And with this strength, the club has always overcome difficulties. With the fans behind the team, this team can only grow. Patience is needed, but this bond is essential," said Zico, in an interview with Flamengo's official website.
Even though he is aware that he represents a lot to Brazil's most beloved club, Galinho asks that the fans' support be for Flamengo and not for him, as he has always emphasized that people pass and the club remains.
"I want the fans to support Flamengo, the team on the field, regardless of what I represent. I'm here to do what's best for Flamengo. Of course, I'm happy with the affection I receive from the fans to this day, but the important thing is that everyone comes together to support Flamengo and not Zico or anyone else," he concluded.
Also aware of the movement of red-and-black fans, Flamengo president Patricia Amorim was pleased to see that unconditional support for the red and black team has not gone out of fashion.
"The fans are our greatest asset. I never doubted that they would always be by our side. It's very important to see that the methodology we've implemented is being recognized. We want to see a better Flamengo. When I took over as president, I said this. I work to deliver a better club than the one I found, and that also involves football. And the red-and-blacks will be with us in this endeavor," Patricia analyzed.
