Zico explains negotiations with Deivid and Diogo

The signings of Deivid and Diogo excited Flamengo fans. The coaching staff and board also celebrated the players' arrivals. But Zico revealed that it wasn't easy to reach an agreement with both forwards. According to him, negotiations began a long time ago and only turned out positively for Flamengo thanks to the dedication of everyone involved.
"We've been talking to both players for a long time. I'd like to thank everyone involved in the negotiations. They deserve congratulations. Isaiah, for example, who we're calling Isaiah Ramadan because he has a different schedule than the others to resolve everything," said the CEO.
Zico also emphasized the players' desire to play for Flamengo. According to him, both players demonstrated great motivation to wear the red-and-black jersey in the second half of the year.
"These are players who come to help, and with them, our focus is on winning the title. We secured these signings thanks to the situations the players were going through there. Both wanted to return to Brazil. Diogo, for example, is a young player who wants to play for the national team and understood that Olympiacos might not be using him the way he wanted," he noted.
Confidence - During his time in charge of the Greek team, Zico didn't work with Diogo much, but despite his short time knowing the striker, he stated that the new Flamengo center forward has everything it takes to succeed at Gávea. Just like the experienced Deivid.
"I didn't work with Diogo much at Olympiacos because he was injured for a month and I only spent a short time there, just four months. Diogo is a great player, strong, with impressive speed, and he knows how to score goals. You already know Deivid better. He's a goalscorer, has great technique, and he'll be here to help," said Zico, who took the opportunity to deny rumors that Diogo was an undisciplined player.
"During the time he was with me, he never had any problems. He was always an exemplary player. If he had done anything in the four months I was there, I would have known about it. Athens is a small city," he concluded.
