Zico prefers not to give a deadline for hiring
Executive director of the red-black football team reveals that reinforcements may arrive even after the off-season

One day, one week, one month... Flamengo is certain it will strengthen its squad, but the club's executive director of football prefers not to set a specific deadline for player signings. A calm Zico, in a press conference after Monday's training session at Ninho do Urubu, warned that all potential reinforcements are being carefully analyzed and that there is no reason to rush negotiations.
Experienced as a player, coach, and administrator, Zico knows how long negotiations can take. Therefore, he explains that it's better to make a good deal, even if it takes a while, than to resort to desperate solutions that could end up being detrimental in the future.
"Negotiations are always slow, and we won't rush into things, as has happened in other situations where the results weren't as good. We don't want to harm the club financially," he noted.
When asked about the possibility of having new members in the squad before the end of the preseason, Zico stated that this would be ideal, but did not guarantee that there would be any news in the coming days.
"When you're going to sign someone, the first thing to do is see if the player is active, and one of our goals is that they work with the rest of the group. But, at the moment, I can't guarantee anything. I can't say that the team will have new players in the offseason," he added.
Zico took over football last Tuesday (15.06), and on the same day, Rubro-Negro presented its first reinforcement for the rest of the season: defender Jean.
