Flamengo's executive director of football, Zico, gave a press conference on Tuesday afternoon (July 13.07) and reaffirmed that professionalism will be the keynote of his administration. According to him, the most important thing is that all employees, players and members of the coaching staff understand the importance of the "Flamengo institution."

The club's greatest idol, Zico, stated that the club is bigger than any individual and that there's no room for vanity at Gávea. For Galinho, this awareness is crucial for anyone who wears the red-and-black jersey.

"The important thing is that everyone knows that Flamengo is bigger than everyone else. The organization needs to be respected. I worked that way as a player and I would like it to continue that way now. That's my philosophy. I want that from now on and I hope the fans understand and support it," he said.

A product of the club's youth academy, he also once again demonstrated a special interest in the players trained at Flamengo. Asking for patience from the fans, Zico stated that calm is essential when working with these athletes.

"There's a lot of talk about renewal. Of the group that went to Itu, 14 players were trained at the youth level. They need confidence and opportunities. We have to know how to use them. No one arrives and immediately breaks through. Only a Pelé, Ronaldinho, Messi... We have to organize and restructure ourselves to reap the rewards," he added.
