On the eve of leaving for Tokyo, Japan, gymnast Diego Hypólito gave a press conference this Tuesday (15/7) at a hotel in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro.

On the occasion, the gymnast, the only representative of the men's artistic gymnastics team to secure a spot at the Beijing Olympic Games, spoke about the process leading up to the biggest celebration in world sport.

Competing in the Olympics for the first time, Diego guarantees he's 85% prepared for the most important challenge of his career. "I'm living my champion moment. Whether I'll get this series right or wrong, I can't say right now. But I'll have done everything to win a medal, whether it's gold, silver, or bronze."

This Wednesday (16/7), Diego Hypólito leaves for Tokyo, for the final phase of training under the command of his coach, Renato Araújo. It will be the acclimatization period for the Olympics.

Disciplined and confident, the gymnast guarantees that he will remain focused until August 9th, when the long-awaited Olympic gold medal will be at stake.
