The seven red-and-black athletes called up for the national team will participate in a camp in Barcelona, ​​Spain, until this Sunday (May 18.05), with training at the High Performance Center in three periods. The delegation arrives in Rio de Janeiro on Monday afternoon (May 19.05). The last 10 days have been full of intense activities for the athletes, who are preparing for important championships this year, such as the Youth Olympic Games and the Pan American Championships, both in August, and the World Championships, in October. 

Keli Kitaura, one of the coaches of the women's national team and coach of Flamengo, says that the activities are very important for the development of the selected athletes, who have shown great progress. "The girls grow every day. They are much better prepared, both physically and mentally. Earlier this year, we were here in Barcelona, ​​and it's impressive to see how much better and faster they have adapted to the activities," she says. "The training is intense and good. The girls have exceeded our expectations," she praised.

"From here, we'll head straight to the Brazil Trophy in Porto Alegre, Bento Gonçalves. The preparation is very good, and I believe the girls will compete well. We have a chance of winning medals," Keli added.

The Flamengo gymnasts selected for the competition are Isabelle Cruz, Julie Kim Sinmon, Letícia Costa, Maria Cecília Cruz, Milena Theodoro, Rebeca Andrade, and Thauany de Araújo. The coaching staff includes Flamengo players Francisco Porath, Keli Kitaura, Ricardo Pereira, and delegation leader Luisa Parente, who also manages the sport at the club.
