Around 300 gymnasts will compete in the Brazilian Junior Championships from August 22nd to 24th in Blumenau, Santa Catarina. CRFlamengo will be competing for medals with athletes Letícia da Costa, Gabriela Soares, and Daniele Robles.
In addition to the Brazilian Youth Championship, Blumenau will host the XVII National Artistic Gymnastics Tournament. The event will be held at SESI – Bernardo Werner Sports Center.
Following Brazilian gymnastics' already historic performance at the China Olympics, Brazilians should be on the lookout for new talent emerging to continue the work of athletes like Jade Barbosa and the Hypólito brothers. The upcoming competitions will be one such opportunity.
In the Brazilian Championship, there are 18 athletes in men's artistic gymnastics and 29 in women's gymnastics, in the Youth category (ages 13 to 15). This competition already features promising athletes representing 13 clubs, including Flamengo.
Gymnasts will warm up and train on Thursday the 21st. Podium training will take place the following day. Gymnasts will compete for titles between Saturday and Sunday (August 23rd and 24th).
