Olympic champion Rebeca Andrade receives tribute in a ceremony held at the Gávea headquarters
Gymnast was welcomed by President Rodolfo Landim and club colleagues to receive a plaque and a personalized club shirt.

Brazil's biggest star in women's artistic gymnastics, Rebeca Andrade, is back. A Gávea athlete since she was 11 years old., she was honored this Thursday (12), at the Claudio Coutinho gym, in Gávea, for winning medals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Rebeca won the gold medal in the vault and the silver in the individual all-around.
The ceremony was filled with emotion and was attended by gymnasts Daniele Hypolito, Flavia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa, Lorrane Oliveira and the club's youth athletes, who welcomed our champion to the sound of “Baile de Favela” sung live by MC João and a shower of confetti.
Present were President Rodolfo Landim, the first lady, Angela Landim, Gustavo Oliveira, Vice-President of Communications and Marketing, Guilherme Kroll, Vice-President of Olympic Sports, Georgette Vidor, Technical Coordinator of Artistic Gymnastics, Guilherme Schleder, Municipal Secretary of Sports, Joyce Trindade, Municipal Secretary of Women, Leandro Alves, State Secretary of Sports, Bruno Chateaubriand, President of the State Gymnastics Federation, the athlete's mother, Dona Rosa, as well as teachers and coordinators of the club.
Rebeca was very friendly, taking photos with the children, catching up with her friends, and was deeply moved by the tribute. She confessed to being surprised by the beautiful party.
"I'm so happy to be back home, with my teammates. I didn't expect it. I'm feeling incredible! I'd like to thank all the fans, all the support Flamengo gives us all. This is very important. It's a pleasure for me to represent them and be an inspiration to all these kids. I'm so happy. These medals aren't just mine. All the generations that have passed have been part of this process. I hope the next generations will be even more successful. It's like a rocket, people, it just keeps going up," she said.
The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
