Club defines training location for Olympic Gymnastics
The men's and women's teams will train outside of Rio. The schools will remain in Gávea.
By Communication - Official Club Website - inStarting Friday, the men's and women's Artistic Gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo will no longer train at the Rio Velodrome. Due to the demolition of the Arena for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the board was forced to find a new training facility. Diego Hypólito, Pétrix Barbosa, Sérgio Sasaki, and Caio Campos, who also represent the Brazilian National Team, will train at Minas Tênis Clube in Minas Gerais, accompanied by coach Renato Araújo.
Athletes Ayrton Manso and Jhonatas Henriques will train at the MESC in São Bernardo do Campo. The adult and youth women's teams will now train at the Planeta Vida Complex in Três Rios. The other teams will train on the second floor of the Flamengo Museum. The youth teams will remain at the Togo Renan Soares Gymnasium, at the club's headquarters in Gávea.
