Diego Hypolito secures his place in the Moscow finals

Diego Hypolito, the red-and-black athlete, performed well and secured a spot among the top eight gymnasts in the qualifying rounds for the floor exercise and vault of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, Moscow (Russia). With that, Diego will compete in the finals this Saturday, starting at 4 a.m. (Brasília time).

In the qualifying round, the two-time world champion finished his floor exercise in seventh place with a score of 14,275 points. Russia's Anton Golotsutskov finished first with 15,000 points. On vault, the Brazilian placed fourth with 15,750 points. The highest score went to North Korea's Ri Se Gwang, with 16,612 points.

"I had a slip-up during my floor routine in the heats, but in the final I intend to fight for my second World Cup medal this year. I performed the double-pirouette nemov on my second vault, and I intend to repeat it this Saturday as well," commented Diego.
