After finishing sixth on the floor exercise at the Beijing Olympics in August, Diego Hypólito will return to international competition. This Friday (the 17th), the Brazilian gymnast will compete in the floor and vault qualifying rounds for the World Cup in Glasgow, Scotland. It's worth noting that the top eight performers on each apparatus will qualify for the final on Saturday.

"I confess I'm a little more anxious than I've been in the past. My goal is to get back into the swing of things in these next stages so I can have a real chance of winning a medal in the World Cup Grand Final, which will take place in December in Spain."

The two-time world champion, who leads the international rankings on floor exercise, is expected to make some changes to his routine. On vault, he'll repeat the same movements he performed in Beijing.

- In the podium training I did today (Thursday), I made small changes to my floor routine, which will have a starting score of 16,70. But I've already decided one thing: The first and last passes will remain the same. On the vault, I'll repeat what I did in Beijing; I intend to improve my current ranking (9th in the rankings) and try to secure a spot on this apparatus in the Grand Final.

In addition to Diego, Brazil will be represented in Scotland by gymnasts Mosiah Rodrigues and Renato Oliveira, all under the guidance of coach Renato Araújo. After the Brazilians' participation in this stage, their next challenge will be in Stuttgart, Germany, next month, from November 14th to 16th.
