In his first international appearance after the Beijing Olympic Games, Diego Hypólito won another medal for Brazil.
This Saturday (18/10), in the floor final of the 5th stage of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, held in Glasgow, Scotland, the two-time world champion finished in second place, with 15.525 points. The gold went to Israel's Alexander Shatilov (15,625) and the bronze to Elefhterios Kosmisdis, from Greece (15,450 points).
"I was very nervous before competing, which doesn't happen often in my career. But I think I did my part, and getting on the podium two months after the Olympics was very important to me. I had thought about doing the Olympic series in the floor final, but I ended up repeating what I had done in the qualifiers, simplifying the series on the third run," said Diego.
Now, the red-and-black team is focusing on competing in the Stuttgart stage in Germany, between November 14th and 16th. In December, Diego will end the year competing in the World Cup Grand Final, which will be held in Spain.
