Diego Hypolito shone this Saturday (July 30.07) at the Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championships, held in Guarulhos, São Paulo. The two-time World Champion won gold not only on the floor (15.000), but also on the vault (15.950). Feeling better prepared, Diego performed Hypolito for the first time after injuring his left ankle and performed a triple pirouette on the vault, like he had never done before.
At the end of his performance, Diego approved the jump, which bears his name, and explained that he kept it simpler in his performance.
"I was really happy. I managed to do the triple pirouette on the vault and I did the Hypolito on the floor. The score was a little lower than I was getting because I simplified the rest of the series," he said, remembering that in the Brazil trophy the gymnast reached the mark of 15.900.
Marcos Barros was also a finalist on the floor, as was Petrix Barbosa, who also participated in the rings and horizontal bar finals.
