Diego Hypolito wins two medals at World Cup stage

A flawless performance in the Moscow Gymnastics World Cup final earned Flamengo gymnast Diego Hypolito a score of 15,550 and the gold medal on the floor exercise. Second place went to Russian Anton Golotsutskov with 15,475 points, followed by Dutchman Jeffrey Wammes in third with 15,225 points.

- I had to simplify my series after the second pass, but that didn't affect my performance on the floor at all, which was very solid, and I was able to secure another gold medal for Brazil - said Diego.

In addition to the gold medal, the two-time world champion took second place in the vault final with 16,025 points. Diego Hypolito was surpassed by Russia's Anton Golotsutskov, who placed first with 16,337 points. North Korea's Ri Se Gwang, who placed third (15,950 points), completed the podium.

"I was very happy with my two jumps, which were very well executed. This silver medal deserves to be celebrated because I achieved my goal in this competition, which was to flawlessly perform the double-pirouette nemov on my second jump," he commented.
