An asthma attack forced Flamengo gymnast Diego Hypolito to miss the International Artistic Gymnastics Cup in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from July 6 to 11. The Brazilian team traveled to the competition last Tuesday (July 05.07), but after undergoing a series of tests, Diego opted to stay in Rio for treatment. Flamengo still has two representatives in the competition: Victor Rosa and Petrix Barbosa.

Now, Diego is preparing for the Brazilian Championship, from July 28th to 31st.

"I haven't had these asthma attacks since 2005. I had tests done when I returned from the Natal Meeting and sent them to the doctors at the COB (Brazilian Olympic Committee). We thought it best for me to stay in Rio undergoing treatment under medical supervision," explained Diego.
