After winning his third championship on the floor last Saturday (13/12), Diego Hypólito competed again on Sunday, but this time in the vault final of the World Cup Super Final, in Madrid, Spain.

After both vaults, the Brazilian gymnast finished in sixth place with 15,812 points. The gold medal went to Frenchman Thomas Bouhail, followed by Dutchman Jeffrey Wammes, who took silver with 16,150. Russia's Anton Golotsutskov and Spain's Perez Botella tied for third place with 16,075 points.

"I think I performed both vaults well and I'm pleased to have competed in the final on this apparatus. My main goal was the floor exercise, and I achieved it. I leave Madrid with a sense of accomplishment," said Diego, who, starting on January 4, 2009, will be traveling to Disney on vacation with his siblings Daniele and Edson and gymnast Jade Barbosa.

Daniele Hypólito, the only Brazilian female representative, competed in the balance beam and floor finals this Sunday. On the balance beam, the "Little One" finished seventh with 13,425 points. Gold went to Australian Lauren Mitchell with 15,250. On the floor, she placed sixth with 13,700. The event champion was China's Cheng Fei with 15,375 points.
