Red-black dominance in the Brazilian Trophy

Flamengo's team took the first four places in the competition's individual all-around.

This weekend, the red-and-black artistic gymnastics team was the biggest winner of the Brazil Trophy, held at the Sest Senat gymnasium in Bento Gonçalves, Rio Grande do Sul. Rebeca Andrade took first place in the individual all-around, and Thauany Araujo, Isabelle Cruz, and Letícia Costa rounded out the top spots.

"In addition to the top four places in the women's all-around, with Rebeca, Isabelle, Letícia and Thauany, a special mention goes to Rebeca, who achieved an unprecedented score (57.700), which, compared to the last European Championship, would have given her the title. This brings great hope for the Youth Olympic Games in their second edition. Rebeca won her third consecutive Brazil Trophy title today," said Luisa Parente, head of delegation and manager of the sport at the club.

In the parallel bars event, Flamengo took the top five places; in vault, they took the top four. In the floor event, Flamengo again had the top five finishers; on the balance beam, first, second, fourth, fifth, and sixth place went to Flamengo.

The group that traveled to Rio Grande do Sul was composed of seven gymnasts: Rebeca Andrade, Milena Theodoro, Thauany Araujo, Letícia Costa, Isabelle Cruz, Maria Cecília, and Julie Kim. The delegation also included coaches Ricardo Pereira, Keli Kitaura, and Francisco Porath.
