It's champion! Flamengo wins the Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championship title
The red-blacks are back in action this Sunday for the Brazilian Specialist Championship
By Helena Petry - inIt's champion! The Mais Querido artistic gymnastics team won the Brazilian Championship title in the sport this Saturday (18). In Santos (SP), the first day of competitions in the Brazilian Specialists also included the dispute of the team finals canceled in the São Bernardo do Campo tournament, in June, due to problems in the electrical network of the Adib Moysés Dib gym.

Flamengo had finished first in the qualifying round and had to wait a month and a half to return to São Paulo and secure the gold medal. Led by coaches Ângelo Sabino and Renata Valente, the red-and-blacks confirmed their superiority by winning the title. Jade Barbosa and Flávia Saraiva shone, taking gold and silver, respectively, in the Brazilian all-around. The double-double was repeated in reverse on the podium at this stage, with Flavinha in first place and Jade in second.
"I'm very happy with the result. Winning the individual all-around is an accomplishment, I think for any athlete, not just me. This competition here was very important as a team, I was very happy with all the girls' results, and now it's time to move on. It's over now, and there's more tomorrow," commented Jade.

In addition to the Brazilian Championship finals, Saturday also featured the qualifying round of the Brazilian Specialist Championship. Next Sunday (19), the athletes will be back in action in search of more medals for the Rubro-Negro. The best gymnasts on each apparatus will be awarded.
The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
