Flamengo's adult artistic gymnastics team is in São Paulo to compete in the Brazilian Adult Championship, which takes place from November 10th to 13th at Esporte Clube Pinheiros. Joining the team is Beatriz dos Santos, one of the 700 athletes benefiting from the Anjo da Guarda Rubro-Negro program. Beatriz is part of the Mais Querido youth gymnastics team and competed to join the club's adult team, which is seeking its nineteenth title in the competition.
The Guardian Angel program, which recently launched its fourth edition, raises funds by deducting up to 6% of the amount owed to the Federal Revenue Service. The program ensures that Flamengo's Olympic Sports youth athletes are optimally supported, with adequate facilities, equipment, and professionals at their disposal. The Mais Querido youth athletes are the future of Flamengo's sport and are increasingly contributing to Flamengo's adult teams, forming teams and helping integrate them into the different categories.
Rhayanne Araújo, one of the coaches for Flamengo's adult and youth artistic gymnastics teams, commented on the importance of interaction between the two teams during this Brazilian Championship:
"The importance of Beatriz coming to this adult championship, which is a category above hers, is for her to gain more experience in her career. She still has another year of juniors, and from the moment she competes against the adults, it's a different competition. There are more days of competition, so she needs more preparation, the difficulty is greater. It's important for her to see what level the adults are at today, so she can work and reach the same level as them, or as much or better, or with more difficulty," said the coach.
