It was a two-day trip, followed by intense training. Last Saturday (July 19), the Brazilian artistic gymnastics team began training for the Beijing Olympics in August. The period will be for acclimatization and will also serve to finalize the final details so Brazil can reach the 7 Olympic Games at 100%.
Composed of 12 gymnasts (10 women and two men), the Brazilian team has been training in two shifts, morning and afternoon. The Brazilian delegation also includes Renato Araújo, coach of Flamengo and the men's national team.
The girls are training at the Tsukahara Center, while Diego Hypólito and his reserve, Arthur Zanetti, will be training at Juntendo University.
At the Olympics, Brazil will be able to field six gymnasts in the women's artistic competition and one spot in the men's. The Brazilian team's roster for the Olympic Games will be determined during the final days of training in Japan, shortly before the trip to China on August 1st.
