Brazilian gymnasts Jade Barbosa, Daniele Hypolito, and Gabriela Soares, along with club coach Ricardo Pereira, will travel today (May 04.05) with the Brazilian artistic gymnastics delegation for an internship at the Kunst-Turn-Forum Training Center in Stuttgart, Germany. The 10 days of training in Europe will serve as preparation for the World Championships, which will be a pre-Olympic event, and for this year's Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Jade and Ricardo will only participate in the first week of training, as they will head to the World Cup in Moscow, Russia, from May 11th to 15th. Only world medalists and finalists on the apparatus were invited to participate in the tournament, and the Flamengo gymnast was the only one who achieved results to represent Brazil.

"It's good to be invited, it's different. It's the first time I've gone like this. It will be my first competition of the year and it will be more of a test, to see how the other girls are doing. Since I'm just returning to training, the 2011 planning was made for the second half of the year, when the main competitions are," said the athlete who, due to a wrist injury, was out of training for a long time.

According to Ricardo, the period in Germany will serve to motivate not only Jade, but also Gabriela Soares, who hopes to be part of the Brazilian team for the first time.

"She's going to show that she's already improved on the floor and vault, that she has what it takes to be on the Brazilian team. If she improves on the floor, there's a good chance she'll make the team. I have a lot of faith in her ability and that she'll be able to compete at the World Cup," the coach said confidently.

Experienced Daniele Hypolito believes the trip will be crucial as it takes place the year before the Olympics.
"I think the training trip with the national team is super important, whether here in Brazil or abroad, especially in a pre-Olympic year. We have to get together and train hard to get there strong and confident," said the gymnast who doesn't have a preferred apparatus.

"I like to work to try to do my best on all devices," he concluded.
