Fla has five players called up for the Brazilian National Team

Athletes participate in training camps and international competitions

Of the twelve gymnasts selected by the Brazilian Senior National Team for training camps and international events, five are from Flamengo: Isabelle Cruz, Letícia Costa, Maria Cecília, Milena Martins, and Rebeca Andrade. These last three are still juniors.

"This call-up represents a huge victory for Flamengo. Even with the fire in our gymnasium at the club's headquarters, we managed to maintain the quality of our work, and consequently, the good results come along with it. We have the help of the Três Rios City Hall, where the girls train and are well-established, but when we return to Gávea, we will be stronger and we will 'kill it,'" said Ana Paula Luck, Flamengo's technical coordinator for artistic gymnastics.

Since 12 is the maximum number of athletes eligible for selection, other gymnasts are called up for specific competitions and training sessions when necessary. This may be to allow them to be tested or to replace those selected in the event of simultaneous tournaments. Thus, the red-and-blacks Julie Kim, Lorenna Antunes, and Thauany Araújo will also have opportunities to represent Brazil in the coming months.

Despite being called up, the selected athletes will remain with their home clubs. They will only be required to report to the Brazilian coaching staff on the dates of training camps and international events. Only a few of them will be present at each training camp.

The next training camp will be in Curitiba, from September 15th to 23rd, and will feature red-and-black players Milena Martins, Letícia Costa, and Julie Kim. The other camp will be held in Três Rios in December, but the names of the girls expected to report for training have not yet been announced.
