The red-black artistic gymnastics confirmed its favoritism and showed all its strength in the Brazil Trophy, held last weekend, at Arena Carioca 1, in the Olympic Park, in Barra da Tijuca.

In the final competition before the Paris Olympics, attendees were treated to a display of strength, technique, music, grace, and precision. The red-and-black team, represented by Olympians Rebeca Andrade, Flavia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa, Lorrane Oliveira, and Diogo Soares, as well as youngsters from the new generation like Larissa Machado, Hellen Vitória, and Nicole Campos, performed well, finishing the competition with five gold medals and three silver medals.

Rebeca Andrade, the biggest star of the delegation heading to the French capital, didn't compete on all the apparatuses. On the balance beam, the Flamengo gymnast won gold (13.633). Rebeca also excelled on the parallel bars. Runner-up on this apparatus at the 2021 Kitakyushu World Championships, she posted a strong score of 14.633. Jade Barbosa came in close behind with 13.200.
But it was on the floor that the renowned Jade shone. To the sound of Britney Spears ("Baby One More Time"), she sent the crowd into a frenzy and secured the gold medal (13.333). Young Hellen Vitória, just 16 years old, completed the red-and-black double with 13.133.
In the vault, Flamengo showed that their base is strong. Another double with Larissa Machado in first and Nicole Campos in second.

In the men's event, Diogo Soares, guaranteed a spot in Paris after finishing in the top 10 in the world at the Antwerp World Championships, only competed on the pommel horse. He showcased his talent and took gold with a 13.300.

"I'm very happy with the result and proud of my performances. I'm also happy for the girls, for their dedication and effort. Even though the competition was individual, we're there as a team, rooting for everything to go well. I'm even happier with the number of people who were in the gym cheering us on, sending positive energy; it reaches us and makes all the difference.
