Brazilian and Flamengo gymnastics achieved the greatest feat in the history of the sport this Tuesday (30). Flamengo's Rebeca Andrade, Flavia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa and Lorrane Oliveira wrote another chapter in the beautiful history of Brazilian artistic gymnastics: winning the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. And it came on the last vault, with great emotion. An unprecedented and long-awaited Olympic medal.
Rebeca scored the final score on the vault, a 15.100 on a beautifully executed Cheng, which secured the bronze medal for the team at the last moment. Before the final apparatus, Brazil was in sixth place. With these vault scores, the Brazilians surpassed China, Canada, and Great Britain.
The red-blacks are still fighting for medals in the individual all-around (Rebeca and Flavia Saraiva) and in the apparatus – floor, vault and beam with Rebeca Andrade.
