Flamengo's gymnastics team went to Aracaju and shone in the national selection for the Gymnasiade. The club qualified two athletes and a coach for the largest student competition in the world, which takes place from May 14th to 21st in France.

Gymnast Matheus Jorge was the individual champion in the all-around at the qualifiers and stamped his passport together with his coach Roberto Nassar.

In the women's competition, little Luisa Maia won silver on the floor and bronze on the parallel bars and will also be part of the national team.  

The Gymnasiade can be compared to the Olympics in a school setting. The event takes place every two years and brings together the world's best student athletes.
