This Sunday (9), the red-black artistic gymnastics team competed again, this time at Arena Carioca 3, located in the Barra da Tijuca Olympic Park, in Rio de Janeiro. The 26 Flamengo athletes competed in the FGERJ Women's Artistic Gymnastics State Tournament and won ten medals, in addition to good performances on the beam, floor and uneven bars.
With the presence of Jade Barbosa, Flávia Saraiva and Rebeca Andrade at the event, Flamengo won three others, four silvers and three bronzes, ending its participation in the State Artistic Gymnastics Championships well.
In the Junior Rookie category, Heloah Monteiro took gold, followed by Gabriela Vieira and Isabel Aguiar. In the Pre-Junior category, Manuela Garcia took home silver and Carly Strella took bronze.
The Children's team also dominated the podium. Ana Letícia Gomes, Marcela Meirelles, and Maria Manuela Anunciação took gold, silver, and bronze, respectively. Rounding out the red-and-black team's victories, Maria Julia Marques and Vitória Correia, both from the Youth team, took gold and silver.
The Flamengo Regatas Club's artistic gymnastics teams receive funding from their sponsors—AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY—via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), as well as support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) through the decentralization of resources from the Pelé Law. The Flamengo Guardian Angel Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the Most Beloved Club.
