Flamengo wins the State Artistic Gymnastics Championship title
Mais Querido was awarded in all categories this Sunday (21)
By Romulo Paranhos - inFlamengo continues to dominate artistic gymnastics in Rio de Janeiro. Last Sunday (21), the red-and-black teams from all categories competed in the Rio de Janeiro State Championship, which took place at Arena Carioca 3, in the Barra Olympic Park. The Mais Querido won the Senior category title, with excellent performances by athletes Isabelle Retamiro, Beatriz Simão and Milleny Esteves, who painted the podium red and black, taking the first three places, respectively.

In the Children's, Pre-Children's, Pre-Children's Beginner's, and Junior Beginner's categories, the Red-Black team also won gold, receiving only individual awards. This is because the State Championship regulations stipulate that if only one team from the lower categories is registered for the competition, there will be no team awards.
In a statement to the Official Website, Ângelo Sabino, coach of the red-black teams, highlighted the performance of his athletes in the championship.
"It was great. We maintained our tradition and won everything we competed in. Some girls have just returned from injuries, but we still managed to excel. This is a very important competition, especially for the youth team, where our athletes performed excellently and received high praise," said Sabino.
Now, the red-blacks continue preparing for the next competition, which will be the Brazilian Youth and Pre-Children's Championship, held in November.
The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
