The Constâncio Oliveira Gymnasium in Aracaju witnessed a true dance by the Gávea girls who won the Brazilian team title. And to liven up the party, the Baile de Favela (Favela Ball) by Olympic champion Rebeca Andrade, who also took the title in the individual all-around, scoring 57.950 on all four apparatuses. Lorrane Oliveira completed Flamengo's double, taking the silver medal with 52.350 points. 

"I think I performed very well. It was incredible!! I was very happy with my performances, and it was great to be able to compete for my club and feel the team spirit alongside my teammates," said the gymnast, noting that all her performances are the result of a lot of training.

"I go to training to always do my best. Because what we show at the event is exactly what we trained for. So I try to always stay focused on my goal. I tried to do the best I could here, and I think I succeeded," he added.

Floor exercise was Rebeca's first performance. The Baile de Favela (Favela Ball) wowed the judges, who awarded her 13,800 points. On vault, she soared and nailed it, earning 15,050 points. On uneven bars, Rebeca performed cleanly, scoring 15.100. The beam was the final apparatus, earning 14.000 points, enough to easily win the individual all-around title. 

The team title came with the performances of Rebeca Andrade, Jade Barbosa, back after knee surgery, newcomers Hellen Vitória and Maria Heloisa Moreno, Lorrane Oliveira and the experienced Danielle Hypólito. 

At 37 years old, Dany Hypolito returned to competitions after two years and did not hide his excitement at once again representing the colors of Mengão.

"It's a mix of emotions. The excitement of competing again, of stepping into a gymnasium again, and of being alongside girls who are my friends. It's almost like the team from the 2016 Olympics, without Flavinha, who hasn't returned yet. I can only be grateful for this opportunity," she said. 

The competition continues this Saturday with the children's category. And on Sunday, the apparatus competition.
