In the fight for medals on the first day of the Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championship, in Vitória (ES), Flamengo was the highlight by winning the team championship title in the women's competition, a feat that had not been achieved since 2006. The 24 best gymnasts qualified for the second day of competition, this Saturday (07.08).

With the determination, charisma and impeccable performances of Daniele Hypolito, Jade Barbosa, Letícia Costa, Gabriela Soares, Juliana Santos and Janaina da Silva, Flamengo secured gold by scoring 165.700 points, ahead of the Cegin, Paraná (157.650) and Grêmio Náutico União (150.400) teams, respectively.

All Flamengo athletes secured participation on the second day of competition. Jade Barbosa, who returned to training with the Brazilian national team after a medical evaluation, was the Flamengo player with the best performance (results below).

Jade Barbosa celebrated her return to competition in style.

"This is the third competition I've participated in since returning from my wrist injury, and it's proven that the work is paying off. I felt good during the competition, without pain, and I'm satisfied because we were able to show what we've been training for. Flamengo needed this victory, and I'm very happy," said the athlete, with praise from the coach.

"Jade and Daniele's scores were brilliant. They performed excellently, and I hope they continue like this throughout the competition. The results exceeded expectations. Congratulations to all," said coach Ricardo Pereira.

Janaína da Silva and Letícia Costa were the only two athletes who did not compete in all the apparatus.
