Flamengo is the great champion of the Brazilian Specialist Championship
This Sunday (9), red-black gymnasts put on a show and secured seven medals for Mais Querido

It's a champion! Once again, the red-and-black gymnasts shone at the Brazilian Specialist Championship and won the competition title in the women's category. The tournament finals were held on Sunday morning (9), at Arena Carioca 3, in the Barra da Tijuca Olympic Park. The girls from Gávea performed well in all the events and took home seven medals: three gold, three silver, and one bronze.
On Friday (7), the opening of the competition, Flávia Saraiva took second place in the total of all apparatus, while Jade Barbosa took third place. The first day of competition ended with four Flamengo athletes qualifying for the finals on Sunday (9). Marking their presence in all events, the Mais Querido athletes started the last day of competition with a bang. In the very first challenge, which was the Table Jump, Isabelle Cruz showed all her talent and secured the gold for Flamengo. After that, it was the turn of the Asymmetrical Parallel Bars, where the Flamengo athletes painted the podium red and black. Lorrane Oliveira, Flávia Saraiva and Jade Barbosa took the gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively.
In the third event of the day, the balance beam, the Flamengo girls put on another show, sending the crowd into a frenzy with their performances. Lorrane secured the silver medal, while Flavinha finished her performance with gold. And to cap off a day of great achievements, Jade Barbosa earned another silver medal for the "Mais Querido." With these results, Flamengo was crowned the overall team champion. It's worth noting that Flamengo also received the 2018 Women's Artistic Gymnastics Efficiency Trophy.

Another very important achievement for Rubro-Negro came on Saturday (8), with the title of the National Youth Artistic Gymnastics Tournament in the female and male categories. The tournament was also held at Arena Carioca 3 and had the participation of the kids from the red-black youth categories.

In the men's competition, the standouts were Roger Gomes, Cauã Rocha, and Matheus Fernandes, who took first, second, and third place in the all-around, respectively. In the women's competition, the Gávea girls had excellent performances. Maria Heloísa Moreno, in first place, Hellen Vitória Benevides, in second, and Giovanna Cruz, in third, completed the red-and-black podium. Meanwhile, Manuela Garcia, in fourth place, also had a strong individual performance in the tournament.
The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
