The Flamengo children's artistic gymnastics teams represented the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved) team ably at the Brazilian Championships in the category, which took place in Belém, Pará, last week (October 12-16.10). The women's team honored Flamengo's tradition in the sport and took second place on the podium, becoming the team runner-up. The girls were accompanied by coaches Rhayane Araújo and Daniela Antunes.

The boys' team event finished fifth. Special mention goes to Roger Luis Gomes, who won the silver medal on the floor exercise, and Josué Eliodoro, who finished fourth on the vault. Both were competing in the under-14 category.

Both teams benefit from funds raised through the Anjo da Guarda Rubro-Negro project, the largest national personal income tax collection campaign. Click here to learn how you can help promote Olympic sports for Flamengo and Brazil.

The gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo have support from the Brazilian Club Confederation (CBC) from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law and with resources from its sponsor – MRS Logística – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sport (IR).
