A breeding ground for stars and a leading figure in the sport, Flamengo held its first Women's Artistic Gymnastics Clinic this weekend. The two-day training session took place at the Claudio Coutinho Gymnasium in Gávea, with morning and afternoon activities.
Around 100 participants, including teachers and students, including those from other states, had the opportunity to exchange experiences with the red-black Technical Commission and Olympic stars Rebeca Andrade, Flávia Saraiva and Lorrane Oliveira, who participated in a module on Saturday.
It was such a success that technical coordinator Georgette Vidor is already planning other editions.
"It was a real success. We had athletes from Teresina, Manaus, Recife, Piauí, the interior of São Paulo—in short, from all over the country. This is crucial for popularizing the sport and increasing the chances of discovering new talent," said the coach.
"This time, we had to limit the number of spaces. But we'll develop a schedule for new clinics and courses to further promote our sport. It's quite fulfilling," he concluded.
