In total, 19 athletes were pre-selected for the next stage, which takes place in February.
By Romulo Paranhos - inOn December 1st, Flamengo opened the doors of the Cláudio Coutinho Gymnasium to host the Flamengo artistic gymnastics tryouts. Boys and girls born between 2010 and 2014 participated in the tryouts, which seek out new talent for the pre-team and youth teams. A total of 89 athletes registered for the tryouts, with 19 pre-selected for the next stage, which will take place in February.

"The tryouts went very well. We welcomed 89 athletes, and they were evaluated by all the coaches, divided into stations where we assessed strength, flexibility, and motor coordination. Nineteen children advanced to the next stage, joining the pre-team or junior team in 19. We hope these young people can make our teams even stronger," said Ângelo Sabino, coach of the red-and-black gymnastics team.
Athletes pre-selected for the next phase will undergo a one-month internship so that coaches can more closely observe certain evaluation criteria, such as: development, adaptation to the team and training rhythm, responsibility and assiduity, among others.
The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
