With five Olympics under her belt (Sydney, Athens, Beijing, London, and Rio de Janeiro), Daniele Hypolito renewed her contract with Mengão this Wednesday morning (February 10.02). The gymnast, who needs no introduction, has extended her contract with the club for another season. She joins Flavia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa, Lorrane Oliveira, and Rebeca Andrade, who also signed with the Mais Querido recently.

"The date couldn't be more symbolic: Professional Athlete's Day. I'm thrilled to be able to renew my contract with Flamengo, which has always been my home and always will be. Having the opportunity to represent this nation for another season is incredibly moving and a source of great joy," said Daniele.
 
At 36, Daniele Hypolito is Brazil's most experienced active gymnast. Since childhood, she has been a leading figure in the sport, winning Brazil's first artistic gymnastics medal at the World Championships: silver on the floor exercise in Ghent, Belgium, in 2001. Joining the club since 95, when she was eight, she has won 10 individual titles and countless team titles since her junior year.

"I'm at a loss for words when it comes to Dani. She's a symbol of the club, an icon, the face of Flamengo. She serves as an example for everyone else. If it were up to me, she'd be here as a little old lady helping us and being part of the Flamengo family," praised Guilherme Kroll, Vice President of Olympic Sports.


The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
