Last weekend (April 29th and 30th), Ginásio Cláudio Coutinho hosted a women's artistic gymnastics workshop hosted by Flamengo. The club, through CUIDAR, trained its professionals in the course. More than 40 people attended lectures by Georgette Vidor, Nilson Mendes, and Jessica Lopes. The event focused on specific technical preparation for parallel bars and balance beam.

At the opening of the course, Izabel Miranda, from CUIDAR, reinforced the importance of training professionals for quality work and results, the main objective of the workshop.

Then, Nilson Mendes, head coach of artistic gymnastics in Venezuela for the past ten years and one of the country's top coaches, presented the practical courses, demonstrating the exercises and positions alongside the red-and-black gymnast Manuela Garcia.

Former gymnastics coach Georgette Vidor also gave a class, sharing her vast experience and knowledge with the group. Gymnast and psychologist Jessica Lopes, who has reached four Olympic finals, also spoke about mental training for athletes and the relationship between athletes and coaches.

The main objective of the workshop was to hold an international artistic gymnastics course in Rio de Janeiro. This allowed the physical education professionals and coaches in attendance to participate in high-quality educational activities and share technical knowledge about the sport.
