The red-black Flavia Saraiva achieved another great result for Brazil this Saturday (03). At the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, held in Doha, Qatar, Flavinha took 5th place in the floor final.

The second gymnast to perform on the apparatus, Flavia was penalized 0,100 for stepping off the mat. The red-and-black gymnast finished with a final score of 13,766, earning the highest finish for the Brazilian women's team in the competition.

"Everyone was very close in the scores. Maybe if I hadn't stepped off the platform, I could have won a medal. But there's no telling. The important thing was that I managed to reach a final I wasn't expecting and take this experience for future competitions," commented Flavinha. "I'm very happy because it's another experience for me. I've never reached a floor final. It's important to reach the final of such a difficult apparatus as the floor and to be alongside fantastic gymnasts like Simone Biles."

On Thursday (01), Flavia Saraiva had already won eighth place in the individual all-around final, establishing herself among the ten best in the world today. Jade Barbosa, also from the red-black team, came in 15th place. The Brazilian women's team finished the competition in 7th place, with great performances by the Mais Querido athletes, Jade, Flavia, Lorrane Oliveira and Rebeca Andrade.
