Last week (May 18-21), Brazilian gymnasts Flávia Saraiva and Rebeca Andrade participated in the second stage of the World Challenge Cup, held in Croatia. With a great performance, Flávia won silver on the floor, bronze on the balance beam and even reached the final of the uneven bars, guaranteeing good results for the Brazilian team.

After finishing fourth in the qualifying round, Flávia Saraiva shone on the balance beam in the finals. With a score of 12,933, the Flamengo gymnast took bronze and her first medal. She then shone again, this time on the floor, and her 13,633 points secured the silver medal for the Flamengo gymnast.

Rebeca Andrade also competed in the uneven event, but failed to qualify for the final. Initially, Rebeca was scheduled to compete on the floor and vault, but the coaching staff decided to keep her on only one apparatus.

"She felt some discomfort in her right foot during training, which doesn't appear to be serious. As a precaution, the coaching staff decided it was best to keep her off the floor and vault, which are impact equipment. When she returns to Brazil, she will undergo the necessary tests to determine what's really wrong with her foot," explained Marcos Goto, head of the Brazilian delegation in Croatia.

The Flamengo Regatas Club's artistic gymnastics teams receive funding from their sponsors—AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY—via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), as well as support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) through the decentralization of resources from the Pelé Law. The Flamengo Guardian Angel Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the Most Beloved Club.
