Last Wednesday (08), gymnast Flavia Saraiva participated in Papo Virtual, an interview section with big names in the red-black sport on Fla TV. Guaranteed to be at the Tokyo Olympic Games, Flavinha spoke about adapting to the new routine, in quarantine, and told about the beginning of the confinement period, spent in a hotel, after returning from a competition in early March with the Brazilian National Team in Azerbaijan. 

"We were going to two World Cups, in Doha (QAT) and Baku (AZE), and I was only going to compete in Doha. But when we arrived in Baku, the competition in Qatar was canceled, so after finishing there, we were going to return. The girls competed and, when they reached the finals, they were also canceled, so we tried to change our tickets as quickly as possible so we could return. When we did, the airports were very busy, with many people trying to return to their countries," said Flavia.

Back in Brazil, the members of the national delegation at the competition went to a hotel in Rio de Janeiro, but none of them presented symptoms compatible with the coronavirus.

"Nobody had symptoms, nobody had anything. We spent five days just under observation. All the athletes, coaches, and managers were fine; all the tests were negative," the gymnast explained. 

After the period, the red-black returned home, where she lives with her parents and brother, and began taking all necessary precautions to prevent the new coronavirus. 

"We're always taking care of ourselves, avoiding going out as much as possible, always washing our hands, and using hand sanitizer. And everything we bring in from outside, we're washing and sanitizing, and we leave a wipe with alcohol at the door," he said.

Away from the gym for almost a month, Flavinha also spoke about how much she misses her routine and her friends and Flamengo teammates, Jade Barbosa, Rebeca Andrade and Lorrane Oliveira. 

"I'm dying to train. I have so much energy, so I spend all day warming up indoors, but we're trying to adapt," said the gymnast. "Jade, Rebeca, and Lorrane are always talking and communicating because we see each other every day, so now there's no way around it; there's always something to discuss."
