Gymnast Flavia Saraiva is on the list of nominees for ATHLETE OF THE GROUP on the Brazil Olympic Awards website, where a popular vote will elect the best athlete of 2019. Voting is now open and will close moments before the end of the ceremony, which will be held on December 10th, at Cidade das Artes, in Rio de Janeiro. Click here and vote.

Organized by the Brazilian Olympic Committee since 1999, the Brazilian Olympic Awards are now in their twenty-first year. Considered the Oscars of Brazilian sport, the awards ceremony features the country's best athletes competing for various awards and being honored for their performances of the year. 

Isaquias Queiroz, from canoeing, and brothers Pau and Xavier Vela Maggi, from rowing, are the other Flamengo representatives at the awards ceremony. They received the award for Best Athlete in the sport in 2019. Isaquias is also nominated for Athlete of the Year. The results will be announced during the awards ceremony. 

The artistic gymnastics teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
