Flávia Saraiva and Jade Barbosa secure medals for Brazil at the South American Games
Brazilian team won gold, silver and bronze this Monday (28)

Brazil secured three medals in the debut of the women's artistic gymnastics competition at the South American Games in Cochabamba, Bolivia. This Monday (28), the Brazilian team of Flávia Saraiva and Jade Barbosa reached the podium with a double victory for the red-blacks.
In the team event, Brazil won the gold medal with 210,200 points. Flavinha contributed 13,430 on the uneven surfaces, and Jade scored 12,830. On the balance beam, Flávia scored 13,870 points and Jade 13,130, while on vault, the red-and-blacks scored the same, scoring 13,470. Jade Barbosa also scored 13,033 points on the floor exercise.
In the all-around competition, Brazil's two medals came from athletes from Mais Querido. Flávia Saraiva won silver with 52,900 points, and Jade Barbosa won bronze with 52,466. The Brazilian team also secured a spot in the finals for all apparatus, held on Tuesday and Wednesday (29 and 30), starting at 16 p.m. (Brasília time). Flávia and Jade will compete on the uneven bars and balance beam.
The artistic gymnastics and swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
