On the morning of this Sunday (10), Mother's Day, Flamengo finished its participation in the Troféu Brasil de Ginástica with the brilliance of Flavia Saraiva. The gymnast gave a great performance on the beam, achieved a score of 13.433, won the gold medal and was cheered by the public. In the floor – also held today – Gabi Bouças won silver and Lorrane Oliveira took the bronze.

The competition – held at the Nélio Dias Gymnasium, in Natal – began on Friday (8) with the qualifying rounds and excellent performance by the Flamengo gymnasts. On Saturday, Larissa Machado and Nicole Bello went to the vault final. Recovered from an injury that kept her away for 1 year and 7 months, Larissa delighted everyone, had an average of 13.199 and secured the highest place on the podium. Nicole also did very well and secured the bronze.

"It was a huge relief and happiness. I was out of competition for a long time, so this competition meant a turning point in my life. Some people even thought I wouldn't continue in gymnastics, but today I just want to thank everyone who believed in my potential and that I could come back. I won the gold with a lot of effort and I can't fail to mention my coaches, Ângelo and Walmy, who were fundamental in me having this medal," said Larissa.

One of the highlights for Flamengo was Millena Lima, just 13 years old. In her first adult championship, the young athlete reached the balance beam finals and returns to Rio de Janeiro with an unforgettable experience. 

"I was very happy with the score I got yesterday and, even more so, with participating in the competition. I was very calm during my presentations and I'm satisfied to have competed in a final," she said.

Olympic champion and medalist Flavia Saraiva made a point of taking photos with many fans and supporters after winning her title. In a statement posted on social media, Flavinha thanked everyone for their affection.

"I feel very flattered to have the crowd here cheering and celebrating so much. I'm returning with another gold medal for Flamengo, and it's a huge pleasure to compete for my club. I want to thank the fans for all the positive energy," she concluded.
