Flavia Saraiva, a Brazilian athlete, secured the first spot in Brazilian artistic gymnastics at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Last Saturday (05), at the World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, Flavinha secured 10th place in the Individual All-Around, with 54.932 points, qualifying for the final and securing her place in the Olympics. She will also fight for medals on the Beam (13,700) and Floor (13,833).

Flavia will compete in the Individual All-Around final next Thursday (10), starting at 11 am. On Sunday (13), the red-black athlete will take part in the floor exercise, having placed sixth, and on the beam, after advancing in fifth place. The individual apparatus finals begin at 8 am.

In the team competition, Brazil was eliminated from the Tokyo 2020 Games. With Flavinha, Lorrane Oliveira, and Jade Barbosa, who suffered a knee sprain after her vault performance, the country finished the qualifying round in 14th place, two places below the cutoff for an Olympic spot. However, it is still possible to qualify more athletes for the competition. Three spots will be determined by the final rankings of next year's Individual All-Around World Cups, while two will come from the Pan American Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
